A factory worker and cashier give birth to a son
Can't go to the hospital, paychecks are done
The mother dies as for the first time her son cries
Leaving the proletarian father to take care of this kid on his own
With only one income, they lose their home
As the father falls into depression following his late wife's death,
His boss decides he's not productive enough to earn his checks
Nothing to eat, nowhere to live
And no one's got charity to give

Is this what you call the "Land of the Free"?
A state built on nothing but greed
Where people are nothing but money-making tools
Slaving for heartless suit-clad ghouls
There is no freedom in this empty place
Let's band together and end the rat race!

The boy is growing up fast and shifting gears
Going to finish high school in a few years
Or he would, but the system never worked for everyone
He can't do math so it's a while before he's done
If he quits he won't be able to survive later in life
Found a girl he wants to make his wife
But there's no way he could support this girl
Never mind diamonds and pearls
Despite the fact that he's a bloody genius
Knows all about Earth, Mars and Venus
And he'd make a damn good doctor too
But they won't let him into med school
Because he can't tell the integers of X and Y
Can someone please tell me why?
It's obvious something needs to change
Capitalism is completely deranged
And all we're being told is lies
And there's nobody to help the lonely who cry

Is this what you call the "Land of the Free"?
A state built on nothing but greed
Where people are nothing but money-making tools
Slaving for heartless suit-clad ghouls
There is no freedom in this empty place
Let's band together and end the rat race!

Your euphemisms and propaganda won't work anymore
We won't be slaves to the corporate whore
In solidarity we stand to make things fair
And the reason why is because we care
We won't stand to let people starve and die
While bourgeoisie scarf down their patriotic apple pie
REVOLUTION TONIGHT!
BEGIN THE FIGHT!

Is this what you call the "Land of the Free"?
A state built on nothing but greed
Where people are nothing but money-making tools
Slaving for heartless suit-clad ghouls
There is no freedom in this empty place
Let's band together and end the rat race!
I haven't written anything political in a while, so I thought this was appropriate.

Welcome to the real world, where the greatest tragedy is that we accept our reality rather than try to change it.

Don't lose hope my friend, don't lose the spark of revolution

Nice whine...except what you're whining about isn't capitalism.

Nor can the problem be solved by putting a gun to those who have been successful in life and demanding they hand over the fruit of their labor to those who didn't put in the labor.

Seems like a math tutor would have solved a lot of those problems.

Math tutors cost money, which a lot of people don't have.

Additionally, what a some people do have is something called dyscalculia, which is basically dyslexia but for math.

Well... not all jobs involve using math on a daily basis. XD

Most, in fact, do not.

Interestingly enough, math courses are still compulsory.

:icondarkelvenmage:
Because math is, like, important and stuff. :0

Oh yes, I really need to figure out how tall my friend is by measuring his shadow in my everyday life.

...did you stop taking math in seventh grade or something?
